Why Graviton
Smaller images, and they never leave your device
Most online compressors upload your photos to their servers. Graviton brings the compressor to you instead.
Private by design
Images are compressed by your own browser and never sent anywhere. Open your browser’s network tab while you compress: no image is uploaded.
Fast on any device
Work runs in parallel on every core of your processor. There’s no upload or download wait, so most photos are done in about a second.
Exactly the size you need
Type 50 KB or 2 MB and Graviton finds the sharpest version that fits, keeping the original width and height unless you let it shrink them.
Whole folders at once
Drop images or whole folders, subfolders included, up to 250 at a time. Download them one by one, a folder at a time or as a ZIP that keeps your folders: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro.
The encoders the experts use
MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif and OxiPNG, open-source encoders trusted by image experts, plus palette reduction with dithering for PNG.
iPhone photos welcome
Drop HEIC photos straight from your iPhone. Graviton converts them to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF without any extra app.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Graviton compresses and converts images inside your browser using WebAssembly, so the images never leave your device. Nothing is sent while you compress. When you download, the browser sends only a one-way fingerprint of the image, so the download can be counted and approved. Graviton stores none of it.
Is Graviton free?
Yes. Compressing, converting and previewing are free and unlimited, with no account needed. A free account includes 3 downloads a day with every format and feature. Pro removes the daily limit.
Do I need an account?
Not to compress. You can drop images, try any setting and compare before and after without signing up. A free account, with no card, is needed to download, so the free daily downloads stay fair. It doesn’t give us access to your images.
Which formats are supported?
You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and iPhone HEIC files, and save as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. Animated GIFs can be compressed as GIFs, keeping every frame.
How large can images be?
Up to 100 MB and 120 megapixels per image, on both plans. Images are decoded in your device’s memory, so very large ones need more of it, and on older phones a resize helps.
Does compressing remove location data?
Yes. By default every photo you download is saved without its location, camera details and other metadata, even when Graviton hands back your original because it was already as small as it gets: a JPG, PNG or WebP keeps its exact pixels and loses only the metadata. To keep the date taken or your copyright, pick them under Keep metadata in More options. HDR photos keep the brightness data HDR screens need.
